I just came to a brilliant conclusion. Have a cheap cell phone plan: either 
prepaid or one of those currently advertised minimal plans for a minimal 
phone. Leave that phone at home all the time. Burglar takes cameras, 
jewelry, and phone; cops catch burglar.
