Jon has a right to his opinion. Jon and I are certainly not the only gun
owners in the LUG

As a Vice President of a gun manufacturer, I differ with MOST of his posts
but that is what this country is all about

Never been hunting (would love to hunt for a wild turkey someday). Only
thing I ever killed was a squirrel during my driving test

Did have a bit of fun when my 16 year old daughter went to the winter formal
with a young man and I gave him my biz card because it has my cell on
it...his eyes got huge and he stammered that "She'll be home by midnight,
sir." Respectful young man...

I started this thread with my opinion.

We need to talk about this as a nation

I was on a date Wednesday when the "what do you do" bit came up. Usually I
say I am one of three principals in a a manufacturer, the the governor game
me an award for creating family wage manufacturing jobs (true), that H2
History Channel did a show on us because we make an interesting product in
the US (true) and leave it at the during the first date...

She pushed

I said I misread my Shakespeare thought it said "Get thee to a gunnery
(nunnery)"

She was beyond horrified (anyone know any creative, fun, whimsical 35-54
single women in Portland metro area let me know)

Whatever. The fully auto versions of my guns (Military and Law Enforcement)
are essentially portable Vulcan systems for terminal defence. Being on the
other end was a really bad career choice. I sleep fine and have little
sympathy for pirates or terrorists.

But I am bothered by how little mental health support we provide here in the
US...was driving home in January (ironically from getting an award for
getting he guns peaceable out ot the PDX Occupy Camp...a "bum" (sorry PC
folk) was drunk (sorry PC folk) wearing dark clothes crossing in a dark
section of Macadam at 730 or so in the rain. A 47 yar old mother with her 15
year old daughter in the passenger seat hit (and killed) the man. I put the
Subaru on the sidewalk, grabbed a handful of flares and the Czech Army
Battle First Aid Kit. His torso was Jello (Dodge Durango impact speed 47mph)
he was choking 911 said turn his head and clear airway, I objected they said
do it...I did he died. He was really dead when hit...I was stuck there for
hours...and during those hours there was NO ONE that came to help the mother
or daughter. No social worker at all (I finally dragged a friend out of bed
and she came down hours later)

we need to help prople

My 2 cents

Mark
