You can keep warm by the fire from the felled trees while you enjoy the view their demise has provided. There was a flap a few years ago when a wealthy resident, a basketball player I think, cut down a bunch of old-growth redwoods on his property because they obstructed his view. Your situation seems vastly different. More like mowing a lawn or trimming a hedge.
