I have not seen one of those for years. Butterflies in general have been quite scarce in recent years. Maybe living in a highly agricultural area is the reason. Too much spraying of the orchards. Makes you wonder about what it is doing to us two legged animals. Then I noticed a butterfly that I had not seen before. Online research informed me that it is some form of Painted Lady. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Butterfly+06.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Butterfly+16.jpg.html If my identification is in error, please correct me. There was a lone bumble bee working the Rose of Sharon blooms. Here, he makes his approach. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/The+Approach+27.jpg.html All with the E-510 and ZD 35mm Macro Comments and critiques welcomed. Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA
