Alice is currently away to the US.
In the meantime rather than using HER temporarily vacant part of the  
bed, our cat keeps sticking herself against my skinny legs at night,  
and so doing leaves a good 5 ft of lost empty space...
I gave her the same look as your son's did to you, to no avail:
ALL the bed is MY side she answered.
