Hi Jim:

Since the scanner doesn't work with the various operating systems,
and it doesn't work with the various cables that you've tried,
but the green light indicates that it passes its own internal checks,
then your problem could very well be due to a loose or damaged
connection in the firewire port of the scanner itself... especially if
someone has yanked on that firewire cord.

Do you have access to a multimeter? If so, then use it to check the
continuity of the firewire socket. You'll have to remove the scanner's
case to do this so that you can place a probe on both the inner and
outside ends of the socket

Also, I think that you indicated that you find no USB ports on the
scanner, just one firewire port. Try a different firewire cable, you
may find that the problem is at one of the ends of that cable.

Good luck,

Jim, "still using SCSI with my Leafsan" Hemenway
