The bike in the picture would most likely be ridden all the way. The bikes 
we see in tv series like occ will mostly be hauled like Nathan said.
But then i might be mistaken again.

Many owners of these machines do not ride them much. I remember once driving 
towards Daytona Beach as the bike week there was getting underway. There 
were numerous pickup trucks with bikes like this. They would stop 10 miles 
from the town, get on their bikes, and ride into Daytona, pretending to have 
ridden all the way from Ohio or wherever.
