Subject: [Leica] Freeing up a very stiff polarizing filter?

I'm guessing some debris got into it.

My first reaction would be to put a drop of naptha into the ring and see 
if that frees it up.

I'd have to see the mechanism to see if it got dented, or whether it has 
a retaining ring that has become overly tight.
