Go in Develop Module to a panel which has HSL (Hue, Saturation,
Luminance) at its top. You will see a "black and white" option and
click on it. Then click on a little gizmo about a couple of
millimeters in diameter. That will activate cursor control. If now
you go to, say, a portion of your picture that is green, put the
cursor there, press the cursor button and move the cursor up or down.
You will see that area and any other green containing area of the
picture get brighter or darker as you move the curser, respectively,
up or down.

Using this simple technique, you could get more contrast between the
leaves and the background.

Hope this helps,

Herb

P.S. Oh. Look in, say Amazon, for Spyder Express. This is an
inexpensive (about $80) device for calibrating your monitor by
creating and installing a color profile for it. I have an inexpensive
printer, an Epson Artisan 50 selling for about $100. The color of my
prints pretty damn closely matches what I see on the monitor.
