Hi Chris,

I never know about Zone System composition. This is new to me.

At the time, the 2 trees attracted me. I knew I wanted to frame them with
other trees on the left and right. I did see the bright light in the
background, so that factor in the exposure and dark tree on right and left.

The other 2 smaller tree to the right of the centered trees are (using your
terms) "unconsciously" aware.

I knew I wanted a square format, there are more tree in the further left
and right, but I didn't care knowing I will crop them in post-process
anyway. When I used to shoot D-Lux 4, I can set the square on the camera,
but Fuji X100 does not have that feature.

There were hundreds of trees there, very chaotic. It was a challenge to
find a satisfying composition.

I only heard of Ansel Adams' Zone System for exposure, never heard of Zone
System for seeing. I will have to look this up, keep me busy and out of
trouble :)

Thank you for sharing your thought, I appreciate it.

-Quan.
