Richard, I am not sure I understand your  point....

oAt >18MP, photographers would rather spend upwards of another $20K to
produce images from Digi-MF cameras rather than save money and use this type
of Canon?

That's nice and great and Intel/MSFT would love to sell you more and better,
but in the real world, more photographers are using laptop which are less
powerful but more portable. The customers are not asking for 40MP files, and
if they are, they can get them from the MF databack shooters.
