What I do, Jim, is load it onto my hard disk by copying it from the card to
whatever folder I create. Then I open up LR and simply add it to my
catalogue
from this folder. Eventually you will figure out that you can import it
using LR
and create the same new folder upon import as you did by copying, but you
don't
HAVE to do it that way.

This, I imagine, is what you do with PSE. Copy your cards to a folder then
find
that folder with PSE and open it. With LR, same thing, just import to LR
catalogue instead of opening it.
Bob

I -hate- software which does that, and I nearly did not buy Lightroom
because of
it, after trying the demo. However I have now a workflow which forces
Lightroom
to file the imports more along the line of what I was used to. Mind you,
sometimes it doesn't do what I expect for a reason I can't fathom.
Anyway, I'm glad I bought Lightroom now.

Hi Bob,

I sent the file to Philippe, who made the request. I have my own filing
system for image files, and don't like the LR habit of doing its own thing.
Maybe I'm just too old to learn new tricks.
