Perhaps in Gotham. But here in the hinterlands the film folks seem to be
a dedicated bunch, and tend to know their stuff. This past Sunday I was
at an event where a fellow was shooting avidly with a Rollei Automat 1950,
and had a passel of well-loved accessories. Another guy was shooting with
a IIIf; we had an extensive discussion about developers, film buys, etc.
Neither of these guys looked particularly cool, nor did they really care
about such things.

Yea every guy or gal I knew who worked for a paper had a stack of prints
somewhere.
I said it before and I'll say it again.
The "film" people tend to be "enthusiasts".
Its all about how they look with their cameras. And their personal style.
As
in neck jewelry.
They care not about photography. Though the profess otherwise.
