I wasn't going to comment on this thread, because I know little about Jag.
However, just now I went to a hardware store, and there's this beautiful XJS
out front (this being Palo Alto, we do see them all the time). When I was
leaving, the guy needed to crank the starter no less than 4 times, with
smoke bleching out the pipe no less, before the engine kicked in. I went
inside my 1990 Toyota Camry and started it, just like that (the key cylinder
on the Camry is so worn that the key can fall off easily while the ignition
switch is still at the ON position...).

I am almost certain that the parts falling out the Jag cost more than entire
Camry is worth though :-)
