Subject: [Leica] R9 users, is there no exposure lock when using matrix metering, only on spot and average?

The matrix meter is just a clever weighted meter. Typically Nikon's
matrix metering underexposes backlit scenes on B&W film. Sometimes
when I know this will happen I move in or zoom in close, meter, lock,
move out and shoot, or fill the frame with another shadowed area, lock
and shoot.
