I was trying several combinations of shutter and aperture. Tilly (the dog) happened to yawn when the lens was set wide open, and I just shot. It turned out to have the best expressions in the series I shot, so I posted it. I would have had to go down to f/2.8 or even f/4 to get them both in focus, which would have meant a shutter speed of 1/45 or 1/22. The dog moves much too fast for 1/22, and often even for 1/45. I'm also biased towards shooting the 35 Summilux Asph mostly at f/1.4 and f/2, because of focus shift in the middle stops. I wondered about posting the photo because the dog was so out of focus, but I kind of like it anyway. My eye goes to my mother-in-law's face first, and only later to the yawning dog, like the punch line in a joke. --Peter Phillipe wrote: > Nice catch.
