Subject: [Leica] I shattered the sensor glass; mea culpa

Peter, taht was an expensive lesson in sensor cleaning technique I
think. The sensor assembly is very different to the ones in your Canon dSLR
but that sounds like pretty bad advice from your technician for any digital
camera. I think that you will find that the whole sensor assembly has to be
replaced. If it's any consolation they will check, service and calibrate the
complete camera for you in the process and you will receive a year's
warranty on the complete camera.
Best of luck getting it fixed as quickly and inexpensively as possible. I
would definitely email Customer Service first.

Cheers
Geoff
