They most certainly are poor communicators. They also, I have found quote repair times at about 4 times the actual repair time it will take, probably to cover for any parts supply problems. When I sent in my R8 and DMR for calibration to each other, they quoted me 4 weeks for the work. The R8 with DMR returned to my door 1.5 weeks after it had arrived at their facility, way under their quoted repair time and free of charge, and 2 day UPS delivery to my door at no extra charge. I have found this to be typical for Leica NJ. And I am not a pro. My initial M8 was replaced for a sensor problem, in less than a week, working through the Leica authorized retail dealer from whom I purchased the camera.
