Actually, that is no problem. What creates this dust cloud over Europe is 
not the eruption itself but the mixing of the hot lava with the snow and ice 
in the volcano's crater. That creates the explosive conditions that in turn 
send the dust up into 6-10 km height from where it spreads. Once all the ice 
is melted in the next week or two, it will just be a garden-variety lava 
flow, a strictly local issue.
