I've already given mine a few (unintended) substantial knocks and it appears none the worse for wear. I carry the camera with EFV attached in an outside pocket of a soft Tumi bag. The bag goes with me everywhere and it gets bumped around a bit. I've had robust looking items break fairly easily, and fragile looking things hold up forever.
