He was getting ready to retire in just a few months. A photo of Albert and me in front of the Leica camera family tree is at: http://northcoastphotos.com/node/23 After seeing the hands-on construction and testing of the M9, the cost of the camera becomes a bit more understandable (though not affordable). Leica does not allow photos in the factory anymore, unlike about 15 years ago when I was able to fire away at all the workstation areas through the plate glass windows.
