The main cause might be Live view as I stated in an earlier reply ;  
CMOS are less energy consuming, heat less, etc.
FYI Panasonic has just patented a design with heat radiators for a  
future (photo-video) body.
Also they seem cheaper to produce and don't require the same amount of  
sophistication in their electronics, etc.
I may be wrong, as usual ;-)
Do MF cameras provide live view using CCD?
