"the best" is not necessarily one of them. Your comments do usually ( all the time?) contain the comparison to specific camera systems ( Canon D-1 or whatever) and therefore can be compared and evaluated. But to say that CMOS is better than CCD is not technologically sound based upon owning/evaluation several cameras, because there is more than a sensor involved in that system. Stick with the comparison of cameras, where the total systems are being compared, within the constraints and constructs a user can be allowed to change and tweak.... Don't get into a pure CMOS vs CCD discussion.... which I call technological drivel talk..... Frank Filippone red735i at earthlink.net I think it fair to say that the manufacturers of these "systems" optimize the hardware and software to bring out the best the sensor has to offer; in terms of sharpness, dynamic range, color rendition, fine detail etc.
