I do not think I was interested in accurate F-stops, but maybe only an
indicator....  I never was one who could either remember nor record
individual shot info, ala Ansel, Minor, etc.....nor found it incredibly
wonderful to know.....after all it is all about the image, not the
scientific data, that keeps me in photography....

I remember this hidden "feature" was discussed here as a function of the M9
and as a function of PS or was it LR 3 Beta?  But never the M8. 

I must give credit to Leica for including the (some?) info to begin with,
when the M8 was first announced.... if not, we could not even get what we
have now....

If the fact that there is an F-Stop algorithm that does work correctly and
is accurate, then I would expect that in time and a few more iterations,
Adobe will figure it out and get it right.....

Yes, I noticed it too. It is not very accurate, at least not at the wider
apertures I tend to use.
