Well after two days I have no idea in the universe how you got the idea I
thought people had to wear loud clothes. What I was getting at was that the
Perry Como analogy and the "Hush" puppies after the third repetition began
to suggest an underlying (unconscious) desire for silence and genial
mediocrity.
