I am -- based on these encomia -- going to go back and try to watch them
again. My problem was the narration which is a pile up of relentless cliches
("To avoid overgrazing the migrating caribou truly eat 'on the run'..." and
"For the seals the sea is a banquet, but the feast comes at steep
price..."). Sigourney Weaver's reading it as if its her kidnappers' ransom
note and they're holding a gun to her head. It's almost all like this, truly
relentless, so I stopped watching it though I did see the snow leopard
sequence and yes, the photography is absolutely amazing. If I were to listen
with the sound off I wouldn't know half the time what exactly I was
seeing... oh well.

I hope the Life series got a better writer.
