There is no other point in the development and drying procedures where there is intimate contact in the film image areas..... Thus, if you do NOT squeegee, you can not get scratches...... If you DO squeegee, you MAY get scratches.... I never did get it... what does the squeegee do? Removes the water from the negs, and therefore presumably the possibility of water streaks? Doesn't hanging them with gravity working for you do that anyway? Add a little alcohol to speed the drying process if required to speed things up.....
