Leica would not return my calls, so I just put it in the closet. The problem with the second camera was that it would not recognize the memory card. I tried every brand of memory card offered by BHPhoto, and it would not recognize any of them. Then I discovered that if I rebooted the camera by removing the battery for a few minutes, it would recognize the card, but not if the camera was turned off and on again. So if I wanted to use it, I would have to take the battery out before each shot. A letter to Leica USA was ignored, so I pretty much quit photography altogether for 2 years with the M8 locked up and waiting. When Leica came up with another firmware upgrade last year, I installed it and it seems to have fixed the glitch. It hasn't been a problem since then, but I've lost all confidence in Leica USA.
