And how many of those would be willing to trade the extreme flexibility of a full-fledged PC or Mac, along with all its complexities for the simplicity of the iPhone? A fair number, I'll wager. My guess would be that MOST users would fall into this camp. That's the market for the iPad. Frank is right about textbooks. My daughter is in college and, while iPad would not replace her MacBook, it could easily replace the 10 lbs of textbooks she has to cart around in her backpack all over campus. That alone would be well worth the price of the iPad. In fact, she would be able to leave her MacBook back in the dorm more often if she could use the iPad to study and write, then bring it back, sync with her MacBook and continue working. --Jim On Feb 4, 2010, at 2:27 PM, Frank Filippone wrote: > I'm not so sure about the computer idea, but as a book, it may replace all > the class books....thus the logic behind the WIFi version..... > > Can you imagine..... > Boy says to girl...... > Can I help carry your Ipad home from school today? > > Frank Filippone > red735i at earthlink.net > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
