Lluis the best thing to do is to get a monitor calibrator like a Spyder or
the EyeOne Photo. You might be able to get a shop to calibrate your monitor
for you as well. Gamma 2.2 is the right setting but contrast and luminance
(brightness) should be adjusted. Most monitors expecially are much too
bright when they are delivered. A Mac expert will be able to explain
controls on your monitor for you.
