Well, I went back to Amazon and found that one of their partnered merchants 
("krayziejman") has one advertised as new, in box, US market. I ordered it, 
figuring that Amazon, possibly the most user-friendly online merchant I've 
ever worked with, will be good for it if it's not as-advertised.
