I have read about this, but I'm skeptical about relying on the competence of
TSA to give extra protection to your gear (or anything else for that
matter).  Plus, unless I happened to be one of those with a 50-state
concealed carry permit, I would tend to worry about problems when returning
home.  Just a thought.
