Have you questionnned the extender - I have, and no longer use it   
even though it amounted to shooting 820mm eq. and f7.

Now, shooting at 600 handheld requires a steady hand - not in the LUg  
tradition of UWA Laga ... (wink)

that may be why others still persist in having OIS on the lens, Niky,  
Cany and Pany among others

My limited experience with Alice's Oly E520 and E620, is that is it a  
huge improvement on the non stab 4xx series ...


And the D Vario Elmarit works extremely well on the the 620.
My pinch of salt.
