You are the one who is talking about what it is worth, not me. Seth
was comparing prices of the Summaron. If you are never going to sell,
then it is a revenue expenditure, why even talk about what it is worth
today, or what it cost? These figures are meaningless and irrelevant.
Both of you cannot have it one way or the other based on convenience!

In any asset purchase, the time value of money is an important
consideration. If you are buying assets because you want to avail of
depreciation, you must understand that you will pay more tax for the
rest of the life of the asset - the effect is just postponement of
taxes. In times of high inflation, it is a very profitable activity,
in times of low inflation, less so.

If you do not want to listen, that is your call. I could not care less...
