Subject: [Leica] My first camera

Mine was my dad's Voigtlander Bessa 6x9 folder (with a neat little convertor
that made it 6x4.5) and I'd use it the odd time but as I had to pay for the
film and developing I used it sparely. That said I always intended to
develop my own images at some stage, and kept a shot roll from the late '60s
in a drawer always intending to start learning. When I got into motor cycle
racing and motor racing I got a very well bashed Zenit but my first decent
camera was a Spotmatic.

Anyway back to that Voigtlander, I was given it by my mother a couple of
years ago when I got avid once again and here's a pic

Beside it is the case my father got our local shoemaker to make up.

Oh and that shot roll from the 60s which had been moved from drawer to
drawer in one house after another, here's one of the images I developed
myself a couple of years ago when I discovered the chemical fix. It's a self
portrait. Strange to see one's youth emerging from a chemical soup.
