This is my second USAID program here; I worked on an engineering QA/QC program in 2007-2008. I left Iraq last June after 13 months on a USAID counter-insurgency program. I have spent a total of 3+ years in Iraq and about a year now, altogether, in Afghanistan. This program runs another 18 months. I am actually involved in the financial management of these sorts of programs and not the technical piece. This sort of work allows me to go to some interesting places (and some not so interesting!) as well as travel on my own. I like the work!
