Subject: [Leica] Selling a used Leica M8: Difficult after Leica announcing the expiry of the M8/M8.2 generation?

I bought a NEW M8 just before 9/9/09.
The price on a new one had dropped almost 20% ( and I would never be able to
afford a new M9, so I took the plunge.) in the weeks since the leak of the
M9.

Used prices right now are holding up, but there is a significant number of
used M8's hitting the market. Significant.

Check Ebay for data on what is happening if you want a feel for
pricing.....but make sure you look at "Completed" auctions.
It does not give you good data if you look at the listing price.. it is the
SOLD price that counts.

Put it on Ebay, sell it internationally ( get paid BEOFRE you ship), and you
will maximize your revenue......

Or try to sell it here.....it costs nothing Fridays is sale day.......and
the gang is real honest, IMO.

Dear Leica Users Group,

I would appreciate some advices or comments on the following: how much
do you assess the second hand value of a nicely kept M8 have dropped
after Leica announced that i) the M8/M8.2 has been removed from the
sales programme, ii) that no further upgrades will be offered and iii)
that no other M-model based on small sensor size will be put on the
market?

Where does one find the best second hand market for Leica's in the
nordic region?
