Yes, my M8 has had startup issues... 

like a vacation when it got left home, and catchup when I got home...
Then there was the UV/IR filter issue... now totally resolved, after I get
my filters from Solms.....
Then the Coding issue.,,,,which has been resolved with a Sharpie, a DYMO
Labeler and a shipment to Milich.....not yet returned....
A few SDHC cards purchased... and boy were they cheap!
A few accessories for comfort... no second battery yet.....my first is now
charging....

But the Lithuanian Festival is Saturday, and the Bowers is having Italian
Day.... with the Sicilian Singers Group....how bad can Sicilian Singers be?
I bet their reviews are all positive!   That is Sunday.

So the M8 is getting its first workout with a set of lenses self coded, and
filters to match....
