I've been pushing 'Steel Gray' for years on the lug and to old ladies on the bus. I tired to convince Bill to make the last LHSA special body be along those lines. But no. nobody listens to poor Rabs. "Its too simple" they said. Hammertone is a bit much and can get complicated. Steel gray says lean mean clean machine; though in Leica terms traditionally in times of war. Which we're always in so that would make little difference when we embrace the big picture. And you don't need a hammer. Soon many of the very same pros who were using M6's in the 90's instead of Nikons and Canon SLR's will be using M9's instead of Nikon and Canon DSLR's. Long Live Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, savior of Leica; a company which talked of in the past tense by every single person on this list a few years ago. The day before yesterday in my mind.
