Ed, I think those buyers/renters will have to go to the few specialised S
dealers. Someone pointed out recently that Fedex is common or practical for
leased equipment for Pros?
Really it just will not make economic sense for the authorised dealers that
now carry the M8 (and perhaps higher numbers later?) to stock the S system.
However whether those same dealers can order in S equipment on demand seems
uncertain. Does anyone have personal experience regarding how this works for
Hasselblad, for example? Can you say order a camera on-line? Do you need to
go to a specialist location?
Clearly to lease or short term rent or just try equipment you need a
physical dealership with stock available. That needs to include rental stock
as well.
Spare a thought for large tracts of the world where is definitely no
prospect of renting or even seeing an S2 without a minimum 1500-2000 km each
way commute ;-)
