I think the 5D2 will work fine. I thought the images were a little soft at first, but my L zooms were back-focusing and had to be calibrated to the body (or vice-versa). Then everything was OK. The primes didn't need any adjustment. It is kind of the reverse of going from LF to 35mm - I need to clean up my act on DOF and focus.
