I have been using laptops for about 18 years now. I have never had a  
battery failure and never needed to replace a battery and only once  
regretted not having a spare.
If a computer was lighter, or smaller or had more battery capacity  
(less important) by not having all the extra material needed for a  
removable battery it would be my immediate choice!
Mind you, my final resort to my pc malfunctioning is to remove the  
battery, only done it a couple of times though.
