I know at least some of you use the 1.2/35mm on the M8, and perhaps someone out there also uses the 1.4/40mm. What are your experiences? What framelines does the 40 bring up? Those using the 1.2/35mm--did you have it coded (obviously, not by Leica) and do you use it with an UV/IR filter?<<<<<<<<<<, Hi Nathan, I've used the CV 35 1.2 probably more than any other lens since the M8 became available. It was out of the box, clicked to camera and has almost become welded to the frame. I never cease to be amazed by its quality.. Not coded or any other twiddling!! As far as frame lines? I've never been an absolute tight user of M frame lines! Not the same as using an R camera. I use the 50mm bright frame lines and know I'm going to be slightly wider in actual exposure. Once again I'm showing my simple fashion of handling gear and far more concentrating on the subject. Besides, if in doubt and the subject isn't some fleeting moment never to be seen again? One can always turn the screen on, have a quick peek! If the shot is cool, you are cool! If it isn't? Step back and do it again and fix it. :-) The cutting quality of the lens night or day is quite amazing. It and my Noctilux and I'm laughing all the way into the darkness! :-) And no I do not use IR filters, however I admit right up front there have been a few times I wish I had them. But I fixed it by flipping the photo into B&W. Just got lucky! :-) ted
