It's difficult to diagnose problems without seeing negatives but to hazard a 
guess?

Your processing seems a bit overdone. Both examples have very dense 
highlights and little or no shadow detail.  Although image #2 doesn't seem 
as  bad as #1 the the brightness range still seems severe. 

Overexposure will block highlights but shouldn't rob your shadows of so much 
detail.  Overdeveloping, with reasonably correct exposure, will  give 
exactly the results we see.

I'd try another roll and watch time and temperature very closely.
