I'm not too sure I would like to send my raw files to someone  to print
from.   Is there a  reason he doesn't want to use Photoshop or the like to
get his work into printable form?

West Coast Imaging http://www.westcoastimaging.com/ will work from raw
files but if it's more than one or two photos it's serious money.
