I haven't seen this issue discussed here, but I've just blogged on the  
subject and thought it might be of interest.

Basically Leica sent me a small washer to modify the baseplate on my  
M7. The modification turned out to be a little more fiddly than I  
first thought. If you have the same thing, or you're just curious,
