Since the flange to film distance is greater than M by 1mm, that means I can fab up an adapter to use some of the Olympus Pen wideangles (20mm, 25mm) on my R-D1. As they are half-frame, they will have the appropriate circle of coverage for an APS sized sensor. Also, they are retrofocus and since the rear elements are farther away fom the sensor I wouldn't have to worry about vignetting nearly as much. They aren't very expensive either. Now to just get my hands on one. I'll have the adapter or process figured out soon after I get a lens. Get me some brass stock and I'll have them machined. Oooohhh. fun.
