(I know this is useless to try, but) 

The newer technology is solid state.....

Try Transistors.  
They do not blow out.
They do not need high voltage power supplies
They run cool
They are more efficient
They do the same job
They sound the same...  ( and herein is the argument......)

I'm looking for a reliable supply source for vacuum audio tubes for my amp.
I want to do some tube rolling and try out some different KT88's (Russian
perhaps).
