Hi Gene,
The ti coating is extremely hard and, IIRC, were marketed as having  
better wear resistance. I had not noticed the M7 anniversary I am  
afraid actual Ti would be lighter than the chrome plated brass and  
"titanium", but heavier than the anodised black ones. I was satisfied  
with my 1980s M6 for film so the later cameras I did not really pay  
attention to!
