[Leica] Is the DOF using a digital sensor any different than thatof film?

Absolutely agree with you Jim.
As far as I go is using the scale on the lenses for range finder work  
(when and if I'm concerned - which is rare with RF).
And using the stop down lever on the R8 when I wish to "see" the  
effective DOF.
When I worked more with view cameras a loupe on the ground glass gave  
me the information I needed.

Just trying to help the questioner.
